Althea Park Specialist Services is a well-established and well-known provider of residential treatment, care and education to both adolescent and adult clients with eating disorders and related problems, in particular deliberate self-injury and personality issues. Our specialities are self harm treatment and care for people with different personality disorders.

We work with clients who have enduring difficulties, usually having already experienced periods of treatment elsewhere. Many have either not been able to utilise previous opportunities effectively, or have quickly relapsed after discharge. Our self harm or eating disorders UK programme focuses on enabling clients to take an active part in the management of their difficulties while, concurrently, developing the social, interpersonal, emotional and life skills to begin the longer process of moving towards recovery. To achieve this objective, we provide homely and nurturing environments, with highly individualised care plans.

Althea Park Specialist Services offers an opportunity for clients with various different personality disorders who require the intensive treatment of a ‘hospital’ programme but equally would benefit from a ‘non-clinical’ residential environment with close links to the community. Our approach combines recognised treatment modalities and psycho-social enhancement.

Althea Park Specialist Services offers intensive eating disorder and self harm treatment programmes: day, out-reach and rehabilitative ‘hostel’ programmes are also available.
